The Children’s Literacy Foundation (CLiF) is looking for an energetic, intelligent, and motivated Summer Intern. This individual will receive an in-depth introduction to how a busy and productive non-profit is run.

CLiF seeks an intern with a strong interest in literacy and children to work in the Waterbury Center office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays for at least six weeks this summer (exact dates TBD). The candidate must be a rising college Junior, Senior, or a college graduate with prior work experience and very strong writing, speaking and computer skills.

CLiF is a non-profit organization based in Waterbury Center, VT. Over the past 17 years CLiF has provided a wide range of inspiring literacy programs and $3.5 million in high-quality new books to 170,000 low-income, at-risk, and rural young readers and writers up to age 12 in 400 towns across Vermont and New Hampshire.

CLiF has a staff of five. The intern would have constant interactions with all CLiF staff members and would be involved in a wide range of projects that will likely include program coordination, database development, outreach, and assisting in the CLiF library. The intern will work in the CLiF office in Waterbury Center, and will also be able to attend CLiF literacy presentations with children and families around Vermont. Compensation will depend on the length of the internship and the applicant’s previous experience.

Applicants must e-mail a cover letter and resume to clif@clifonline.org. Deadline is Tuesday, May 26.
