Dan holds BA and MS degrees from Boston University, and a MS from Dartmouth College. He began his career at Cambridge Associates LLC, where he spent ten years before moving to Hanover in 1995 to begin work at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. In 1998, he joined the Dartmouth College Investment Office where he was a managing director of the Venture Capital, Private Equity, and Energy portfolios until his retirement from Dartmouth in 2010.

He currently works with start-up companies at the Tuck School. In addition to CLiF, Dan is a trustee of the Converse Free Library in Lyme, a volunteer at the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth, a member of the Investment Committee of the New Hampshire Charitable Trust, and outgoing vice chair of the Lyme Foundation. He is also involved with youth soccer and ski coaching. Dan lives in Lyme, NH with his wife and two sons.
