Other Ways to Help
There are many ways to help CLiF and the children we serve:
Organize a Book Drive
CLiF gives away thousands of new, high-quality children’s books every year to children who have few, if any, books of their own. Every year individuals, schools, businesses, social organizations, and bookstores organize book drives for CLiF.
Host an Informal CLiF Gathering
Gather a group of friends for lunch or evening appetizers and CLiF’s Director Duncan McDougall will give a presentation about CLiF and tell some inspiring stories about our programs and the children CLiF serves. It’s a great occasion for bringing together friends, and it helps CLiF spread the word about our work.
Include CLiF on Your Birthday
If you or your children prefer to not ask for birthday gifts, consider asking your friends and family to donate a new book or two to CLiF instead. It’s a wonderful way to support CLiF’s work and include an uplifting message in your celebration.
Volunteer with CLiF
We are always interested in hearing from individuals who live near our office in Waterbury Center, Vermont and can help with book sorting, attaching bookplates, coordinating mailings, and other important tasks.
Invite CLiF to Give a Presentation
If you are a member of a club or organization that invites outside speakers, CLiF staff are often available to give presentations about the state of children’s literacy in New Hampshire and Vermont and what we can do to improve it. We appreciate the opportunity to introduce CLiF’s work to a wider audience.
