While financial contributions are essential to CLiF’s success, there are many other things you can do that would really help CLiF and the children we serve:

Organize a Book Drive

Organize a Book Drive

CLiF gives away more than $250,000 in new, high-quality children's books every year to children who have few, if any, books of their own. Each year various individuals, schools, businesses, social organizations, and bookstores organize book drives for CLiF.

Host an Informal CLiF Gathering

Host an Informal CLiF Gathering

Simply gather a group of friends for lunch or evening appetizers and CLiF's Director Duncan McDougall will come to show a 10-minute DVD about CLiF and tell some inspiring stories about our programs and the children CLiF serves. It’s a great occasion for bringing together friends, and it helps us spread the word about our work!

Include CLiF on Your Birthday

Include CLiF on Your Birthday

If you or your children already have enough gifts, consider asking your friends and family to donate a new book or two to CLiF instead. It’s a wonderful way to support CLiF’s work and include an uplifting message in your celebration.

Be a CLiF volunteer

Be a CLiF volunteer

We are always interested in hearing from individuals who live near our office in Waterbury Center, Vermont and would like to help us with book sorting, attaching bookplates, coordinating mailings, and other important tasks. If you don’t live nearby, you may be able to help with other types of projects. Please note that we are not looking for volunteer readers. We use professional authors, poets, and storytellers for all CLiF readings.

Invite CLiF to Give a Presentation

Invite CLiF to Give a Presentation

If you are a member of an organization that periodically has outside presenters, invite CLiF to give a presentation about the state of children’s literacy in New Hampshire and Vermont – and CLiF’s efforts to make a difference. We appreciate any opportunity to introduce our work to a wider audience.
