When: Friday, March 19, at 7:00 p.m. EST

What a blast we had with VT author Chris Tebbetts! See the video of his presentation, in which we discussed his latest novel, 1st Case (co-authored with James Patterson), the process of creating books, and co-authoring popular series such as Middle School and Stranded.

CLiF’s Book Club for Grown-Ups series continues! Normally, our amazing authors, illustrators, poets, graphic novelists, and storytellers visit (virtually these days) low-income, at-risk, and rural kids to get them excited about reading and writing. But many of these folks also write for adults, too. Since the fall, we’ve been offering an evening Book Club for Grown-Ups to discuss books written for adults by New Hampshire and Vermont authors who also write for kids. You can find recordings of our previous sessions with Rajnii Eddins and Sarah Stewart Taylor here (Dan Brown’s February 12 recording will be available soon).

Chris is the author and co-author of many books for young readers, including the Middle School series with author James Patterson, the Stranded series with Jeff Probst of “Survivor”, and Me, Myself, and Him, among others.

We’ll be discussing the new thriller Chris co-authored with James Patterson, 1st Case. The novel follows a genius FBI intern on (you guessed it) her first case, which threatens her life.

Chris was recently featured in CLiF’s Virtual Storytelling Series for young kids and families. Watch his video here. All previous storytelling sessions for kids can be found here. The series will resume in March.

Chris will also be leading an interactive writing exercise to inspire writers of all ages at CLiF’s three-day free, virtual Community Literacy Conference for educators. The conference takes place March 10, 17 and 24, with Chris’ session from 3:00-4:30 p.m. EST on March 24. Other sessions will include teaching with nonfiction books and making comics. NH and VT partners will receive new books and professional development credit. Sign up here for any or all of the sessions.

Join us, along with VT author Chris Tebbetts, on Friday, March 19. See you at Book Club!
