CLiF’s Wednesday afternoon storytelling series will be back for the winter! Join CLiF and one of our professional presenters Wednesdays at 1 p.m. EST from January 6 to February 10. Watch the spring, summer, fall, and winter presentations here. CLiF started these weekly sessions to: offer kids and teachers or caregivers a chance to take a break and share a story, highlight our amazing presenters and the activities they launched for home learners, and serve our mission to make reading and writing fun, in this case by inspiring students with encouragement from our presenters. We hope to reach kids at home and in a different classroom environment.

We will create an overview for each presentation that includes links to virtual ways to enjoy the author’s work, related literacy activities from CLiF’s resource library, and questions to guide students in preparing to “meet” the author.

Watch the recorded sessions from this season:

Wednesday, January 6, 1 p.m. – Learn more about comic artist Marek Bennett; watch his presentation
Wednesday, January 13, 1 p.m. – Learn more about non-fiction writer Steve Swinburne; watch his presentation
THURSDAY, January 21, 1 p.m. – Learn more about Linda Urban; watch her presentation
Wednesday, January 27, 1 p.m. – Learn more about Jim Arnosky; watch his presentation
Wednesday, February 3, 1 p.m. – Learn more about Gina Perry; watch her presentation
Wednesday, February 10, 1 p.m. – Learn more about Terry Farish; watch her presentation

We appreciate this cross-section of our CLiF presenters – cartoonist, nonfiction, author/illustrator, picture and chapter books – living, working, and finding inspiration in their Vermont and New Hampshire homes.

One reminder: CLiF is actively soliciting your ideas on how we can serve literacy needs of teachers, librarians, counselors, parents, early educators, and out-of-school-time providers. Read more or submit an idea here!

Even if you can not join us live, we encourage your students to submit questions through the blog, social media, or emailing programs@clifonline.org. We will post the recorded session each week. We do ask that you register for each event, so we can protect the privacy of attendees by sending Zoom information and passwords.

We look forward to continuing to share our love of reading and writing with you in this new format!

  1. I am a title one teacher and this would be a great feature to add to our curriculum this winter, especially if we go remote again.
