CLiF staff and presenters are saddened that COVID-19 means we can not visit camps, libraries, and out-of-school-time programs for our traditional Summer Readers program. While we will still send books to partner programs, we will offer your campers, students, and children the chance to interact live with our presenters who will present from their home. For six weeks starting July 8, each Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. EST, we will have an opportunity for kids and adults to hear stories and poems, to ask CLiF presenters questions, and to get encouragement for summer reading and writing goals.

We have created an overview for each presentation that includes links to virtual ways to enjoy the author’s work, related literacy activities from CLiF’s resource library, and questions to guide students in preparing to “meet” the author.

Here’s the upcoming schedule:

Wednesday, July 8, 1pm – Meet author illustrator Ashley Wolff (see CLiF’s overview here; watch her presentation here)
Wednesday, July 15, 1pm – Meet author Eric Pinder (see CLiF’s overview here; watch his presentation here)
Wednesday, July 22, 1pm – Meet author/photographer/adventurer Jan Reynolds (see CLiF’s overview here; watch her presentation here)
Wednesday, July 29, 1pm – Meet storyteller Marv Klassen-Landis (see CLiF’s overview here; watch his presentation here)
Wednesday, August 5, 1pm – Meet author/illustrator/humorist Marty Kelley (see CLiF’s overview here)
Wednesday, August 12, 1pm – Meet non-fiction author Sandra Neil Wallace (see CLiF’s overview here; watch her presentation here)

We appreciate this cross-section of our amazing CLiF presenters – storyteller, nonfiction, author/illustrator, poet – living, working, and finding inspiration in their Vermont and New Hampshire homes.

Even if you can not join us live, we encourage your students to submit questions through the blog, social media, or emailing programs@clifonline.org. We will post the recorded session each week. We do ask that you register for each event, so we can protect the privacy of attendees by sending Zoom information and passwords.

We look forward to sharing our love of reading and writing with you in this new format.
