This weird school year is almost over, which means one thing…summer reading! Sure, school-required reading lists can seem like just another thing to do, but make sure to take time to read what you enjoy – and let your kids do the same! One of my favorite things about summer is posting up in a hammock or on the beach to dig into a good book. It’s a time to catch up on my TBR list and get lost in a story while enjoying the sunshine.
Here are some of the books our partners recommend this summer:
My Heart Fills with Happiness by Monique Gray Smith & illustrated by Julie Flett (Board Book)
Celebrate the little things that bring you joy.
Cannonball by Sacha Cotter (Picture Book)
Perfect for summer!
Watercress by Andrea Wang & illustrated by CLiF presenter Jason Chin (Picture Book)
Laugh Out Loud Jokes for Kids by Rob Elliott (recommended for ages 7-10)
Have some fun with silly jokes. Fair warning – you’re likely to hear these a lot on road trips.
School Bus of Horror Series: 4D (ages 9-13)
This fun horror series comes with bonus augmented reality content, so they can read a print book along with fun digital extras.
Stepping Stones by Lucy Knisley (Middle Grade)
This graphic novel is the first in the Peapod Farm series, about dealing with change and struggling to fit in.
The Gravity of Us (Young Adult)
This LGBTQ+ romance is perfect for space-lovers.
Happy summer reading!
