Here’s a peek behind the scenes in the CLiF office. Julia is busy assembling a huge book order for CLiF’s fall programs through our partner First Book.
It’s a thoughtful process. Lots of kids in New Hampshire and Vermont are interested in hunting, animals, and nature, so she’s including
- Tracking and Reading Sign by Len McDougall
- Hatchet by Gary Paulsen
and while we’re on Hatchet, the survival genre is hot (think Hunger Games and Divergent trilogies). Also on the list:
- Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz
As well as perennial favorites:
- The Tale of Despereaux by Kate diCamillo
- Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson
- The BFG by Roald Dahl
Any recommendations for Julia as she puts together her order? We’re looking for children’s books about nature, survival, new favorites, reluctant readers, classics… and if you know a terrific title that doesn’t fall under those categories, surprise us.
